The most striking features of the electro-mechanical floating caliper brake HEAW, for example deployed as a rotor brake in wind turbines, are its compact design, modular assembly and intelligent controller.
The braking system is equipped with an electrical power back-up system based on capacitors and therefore guarantees fail-safe functionality. Modular assembly facilitates simple adaptation of the brake geometry to the installation space.
Thanks to the intelligent controller, braking force can be set variably via software, smooth force gradients (ramp-up) can easily be realized. Remote diagnosis is possible; and the brake can be connected to the superordinate controller via a bus system.
